Entry Limit: 150 Entries Close: 4th May 2012 Route briefAgain we visit the Brecon Beacons, only this time the higher ground will provide an extra challenge. Arguably the toughest round of the series you will visit the highest peaks in Southern Britain all linked by classic mountain trail. The infamous ascent of Cribyn is quite possibly the ultimate preverbal sting in the tail. Plenty of hill training would be advised as your climbing legs will be tested to the full. Quite a bit of the course takes place on land over 600 metres in height providing views on a clear day which are simply stunning. As always safety is paramount and with that in mind we will be very strict with the compulsory equipment list. Event HQ is again the Outdoor Recreation Center which provides a fantastic event center and optional accommodation. The White Hart, a two minute walk down the road provides good food and a great pint – a welcome relief after running around the Brecon Beacons all day. AccommodationThe Talybont Recreation Center is a Grade 2 listed former railway station building set in about 2 acres of private grounds including conservation area with pond. It has been recently extended and modernised with a Dining room, TV lounge/classroom and drying room. It is a five minute walk to the pubs in Talybont Village including The White Hart. Accommodation can be booked here. Please note this organised accommodation option is limited to 36 athletes and both nights must be booked (Friday & Saturday nights) at a cost of £35, please book early to avoid disappointment. |
